The awards recognise exemplary channel partners whose behaviour Cisco would like other partners to model.
Criteria included: innovative practices, applications successes, unique programs, problem solving and sales approaches.
All winners are selected by a group of Cisco Worldwide Channels and Theatre executives.
"This award is a really significant achievement and a great proof point for Dimension Data's capabilities in the data centre space, which is especially important given the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) strategy," said George Atrash, general manager for Connectivity, Dimension Data.
"This is also a recognition from Cisco for Dimension Data's early preparatory work with regards to UCS and the success we have had in building and deploying data centre switching infrastructure solutions for our Australian clients."
The Cisco Partner Summit awards are presented at three levels: regional, theatre and global.
Cisco Partner Summit global awards reflect a partner's performance within a specific technology market across several geographic regions.
Keith Goodwin, senior vice president, Worldwide Channels at Cisco said the Data Centre Partner of the Year for Asia-Pacific award recognises Dimension Data's performance and accomplishments as a Cisco channel partner in 2008.
