Dicker Data sees boost from remote working push
David Dicker (Dicker Data)

Dicker Data has delivered a strong start to its FY2020 with significant growth recorded in the first quarter on the back of the recent push into remote working.

In the quarter ended 31 March 2020, the distributor recorded revenue of $463.9 million, up 20 percent from $386.9 million the previous year. Profit before tax was $18.4 million, up 36 percent from $13.5 million in Q1 2019.

The growth was fuelled by the “significant mobilisation” ro remote working solutions during the period, which was experienced across multiple sectors including education.

Dicker Data also said March 2020 was its highest ever revenue month in the company’s history.

The company said despite the strong start and with no material change to its overall sales pipeline, it would not be providing guidance in respect to annual earnings, stating it was too early to determine market conditions for the second half of FY2020.

Looking ahead, the distributor said supply constraints have been managed where most orders of hardware stock can be fulfilled, while factories are starting to become fully operational and complete balance of back orders in the coming weeks.
