Data#3 has completed a multimillion-dollar deal to supply 4200 HP devices to the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
As well as deploying the devices, Data#3 also provided project management capabilities, professional services, imaging and asset tagging, change management and training for hospital staff, and ongoing field services.
The hospital began admitting patients in March 2017 and was officially opened in April. It is Queensland's first public hospital opened under a public-private partnership.
Brisbane-based Data#3 was tapped to supply the specialist healthcare devices in order to provide enhanced mobility and flexibility, allowing hospital staff to access information such as patient details, test results and reports.
"To our core, HP is a company formed through effective partnering," said HP's commercial channel business manager, Chris Hewlett. "It's through this experience that we connect with Data#3 to offer our combined experience and solutions to the progressive Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
"Together, we have extensive know-how of the healthcare system in Australia and its technology requirements, and the complexities of how a public entity can co-exist with a private health system."
Last year, Data#3 claimed it was the national IT leader in education with its school sales surpassed $100 million. Education made up more than 10 percent of Data#3's $983 million revenue in the 2016 financial year. Other major education deals include a 12,000 HP device rollout to Queensland schools in October.
