Data#3 has added a $12.3 million contract providing Microsoft software to its Department of Defence wins.
The contract, which became public via a government notice in July, is one of two worth more than $10 million announced between Data#3 and Defence within a two-month period. The other is a $19.1 million contract to deliver Windows Server components.
As with the previous win, the purchase supports a range of Defence projects, predominantly in support of the Single Information Environment initiative – a key component of reforms to IT delivery by Defence.
The latest contract continues until 30 June 2016 and is for software assurance covering a "range of Microsoft product families" owned by the Department of Defence, a Defence spokesperson said. These include various Windows Server components, SQL Server as well as other products.
Data#3 revenues have reached record levels, with the integrator pulling in $833.6 million in the year ending 30 June. Software licensing has exceeded targets for 19 years in a row.
However, net profit after tax fell by 38 percent to $7.5 million in the most recent financial year. Managing director John Grant cited pressure on margins when he spoke to CRN in August.
