PC vendor Corsair has signed on its third Australian distributor with the addition of Leader Computers.

Leader will offer the full range of Corsair products, including peripherals, memory upgrades, power supply units, computer cases, solid-state drives and system monitoring devices.

Altech was previously the exclusive Australian distributor for Corsair for 15 years before Synnex was added in June.

Corsair traditionally focuses on its PC memory products, but has expanded into high-end gaming peripherals in recent years. Its top-selling keyboard sells for just over $200.

“With Leader onboard we will be able to increase the number of resellers and geographical reach of our Australian distribution network, while also exploring previously untapped business opportunities such as high-end system builder channel, and in so doing ensure our continued growth in the region,” said Corsair senior vice president of worldwide sales Bertrand Chevalier.

He told CRN in June the company was setting its sights on national retailer partners, saying there is still money to be made at the high end of the declining hardware market.

Established in 1996, Leader has signed a string of new vendors in the last two years, including Sapphire, AOC, Gigabyte, TP Link, Crucial, Lexar, Bitfenix, Silverstone and FSP.
