Bluechip Infotech is bringing small business cybersecurity specialist Coro into the Australian and New Zealand markets, led by Joe Sykora, Coro's CEO, who said that the company is taking a 100% channel approach.

Coro provides a single platform that encompasses 15 different cybersecurity ‘modules’ that a customer or their MSP can choose to add on or leave off, covering network, email, endpoints and, most recently, training.

The company recently launched a partner programme called Coro Compass that, Sykora said, offers predictability for partner income, providing “guaranteed margins and protections, both on the initial business, but also incumbency when it comes to future business".

Sykora also said the company aims to stands out in the increasingly crowded cybersecurity market because it was built from the ground up to serve small to medium enterprises (SMEs).

“A lot of our competition really isn't focused on the SME," he told techpartner.news.

"Maybe they do some small business, but they're really focused more on mid-enterprise and then how do [they] get to the enterprise. We're not trying to do that - we're staying where we're at.”

He said that the other benefit to this ground-up approach was that it made for a more cohesive solution, adding that other vendors tried to create an integrated security platform by acquiring other vendors and then “Frankensteining” them together.

“It's not a single pane of glass and the data set is not one, it's separated," he said.

"Same thing with a technical alliance, where … they try to do it through API integrations. There’s two things that happen there: One, it isn't a single pane of glass to manage and two, it's a lot more expensive.”

Sykora said while the platform is heavily automated, Coro leaves space for partners to offer managed services on top of the product.

“We're not doing MDR (managed detection and response) - in fact, we believe that our partners should be providing all the services, so we let them do the MDR piece of that and the SOC services," he explained.

Sykora said the company’s age also gave it the edge over others in the space.

“There's a few newer companies out there that are trying to establish an all in one platform … but they're not 10 years old," he said.

"They're not working with an established product. We're on version 3.5 of our offering, so it's fully baked.”
