Australian mobile peripherals distributor Conexus has been acquired by TNS Distribution, the retail distribution arm of global supply chain giant PCH International.
The acquisition, made for an undisclosed sum, provides TNS access to an Australian retail channel for the range of iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac accessories it distributes in other territories.
“Acquiring Conexus will give TNS clients better access to all major retail customers in the Australian region,” said Ivan Eustace, co-founder of TNS Distribution. “In turn, we are offering the Australian market a vast array of world-class brands that were not previously available. ”
Conexus, which has distributed a wider range of iOS, Android and other mobile accessories and peripherals since 1991, now forms part of the global PCH International group.
PCH is headquartered in Ireland but operates out of China. It began as an accessories importer in the United States but has since grown into a global sourcing empire with over $400 million in annual revenues.
“This acquisition is an exciting addition for the PCH Group,” said Liam Casey, CEO and founder of PCH International.
“It will allow us to expand our global retail distribution services to our clients, which include some of the world’s largest brands and innovative hardware startups. It is one step closer for them to get their products to market. We’re excited about the huge opportunities available in the Australian consumer electronics retail market.”
A spokesman for PCH confirmed that Conexus' founders Mark Daley and David Murray will be employed by the acquirers, "along with other current Conexus staff."
