Global non-profit IT industry body CompTIA has launched an Australian branch and appointed Moheb Moses, co-founder of consulting firm Channel Dynamics, as director of ANZ Channel Community.
The association announced that nearly 90 businesses and executives have joined the CompTIA ANZ Channel Community, and the first official meeting will be held 18 August at the Sheraton on the Park hotel in Sydney.
"These early adopters are benefiting from having a dedicated forum for ANZ-specific discussions on issues and opportunities impacting channel companies in the region," said CompTIA member communities vice president Jim Hamilton.
"They’re also providing great direction and feedback on how CompTIA can best serve the ANZ channel and its members."

Staples ANZ head Karl Sice said that the ANZ Channel Community "seeks to be the voice of the entire ANZ IT channel: small, medium and enterprise".
"CompTIA’s status as a non-profit, vendor-neutral industry association affords the community an opportunity to develop a unique voice in the industry where all can participate for the purpose of improving and shaping the future of the ANZ channel," said Sice.
Distribution Central managing director Nick Verykios said that then local channel is now at "a point of maturity" when CompTIA's involvement would prove useful.
US-based CompTIA held its first-ever Australian community meeting in November.
