Interactive has secured a contract to provide network hardware support services to FletcherTech, the technology division of Fletcher Building, one of New Zealand's largest listed companies.
The partnership will see Interactive, a Cisco Gold Integrator and Gold Provider partner, support switching devices across Fletcher Building's network of 400 sites throughout New Zealand.
The agreement provides FletcherTech with round the clock service desk support across New Zealand and Australia, along with guaranteed local parts availability for its diverse operations spanning building products, distribution, concrete, construction and residential development.
Fletcher Building operates over 30 diverse businesses across New Zealand and Australia, and has nearly 15,000 employees.
"Connectivity is critical to the operation of our business," Jason Green, network and unified communications manager at FletcherTech said.
"We needed a system that would support different hardware lifecycles across individual business units," Green added.
"Today, consolidating the number of providers you work with transforms network support, driving faster response times, streamlined management, and strategic cost savings," Simon Durkin, managing director at Interactive said.
Green highlighted the importance of local parts availability: "if a plumbing site were to go down for a week while we waited for a part to arrive, we'd risk losing time, money and customer trust."
The partnership between Interactive and Fletcher began in 2010 and has since then expanded significantly.
By 2016, Interactive supported FletcherTech's Cisco network switching solutions across hundreds of locations.
FletcherTech plans to continue working with Interactive to deploy configuration and visibility tools, particularly focusing on security requirements and network troubleshooting capabilities.
Interactive supports over 2,500 customers across various industries with managed and professional services, the company said.
