Cisco Australia confirmed it will raise the price of hardware and services by 12.83 percent next month.
The new pricing comes into effect 9 November for services and hardware.
A Cisco spokesperson told CRN a number of factors were taken into consideration in determining the price adjustment:
“Cisco periodically reviews the pricing of its products and services. As the result of a recent review the company has notified its Australian customers, partners and distributors of a 12.83 percent increase for all Cisco products and technical services, effective on the 9th November 2015.”
Data#3 group practice manager Graham Robinson said the price hike wasn’t out of line from any of its other vendors. Data#3 is a Cisco Gold partner.
“Cisco has been open and transparent and has communicated to the market there is a price rise as of November,” said Robinson.
“This rise is not out of alignment from other global partners, so it’s not specific to Cisco. This financial situation that [Australia] is in is a result of the Australian dollar affecting a large number of our partners and the cost of products.”
Another Cisco reseller, Oriel, is advising customers to place orders for Cisco products by 29 October to take advantage of current pricing.
Cisco is distributed in Australia through Dicker Data, Ingram Micro and Westcon-Comstor.
