Cirrus wins $2.2m Cisco deal with Perth hospital

Cirrus has won a contract to manage the Cisco core network infrastructure for the Perth Children's Hospital worth $2.2 million.

The contract will be facilitated through L7 Solutions, the IT services provider Cirrus acquired from Vocus last year. According to the contract notice, L7 will provide Cisco SmartNet maintenance and support to the hospital over three years.

Cirrus managing director Frank Richmond said: "Through our L7 Solutions entity, it is pleasing to be recognised for our innovative, agile and cost competitive approach. We look forward to continuing to showcase our group wide technology offering to these blue-chip government and business customers alike."

In the 2016 financial year ending 30 June, Cirrus nabbed a swag of annuity-based managed services contracts totalling $4 million.

This week, the WA government revealed a number of other ICT contracts, including multiple contracts totalling $438,000 for support services to Dimension Data and a $154,000 contract for iPads and tablets awarded to Winthrop.

During the Western Australian government's 2016 financial year budget, the hospital allocated $40.8 million for provisioning ICT requirements.

The new Perth Children's Hospital is a $1.2 billion facility housing 298 beds. It was expected to open in 2015 but has faced construction delays. The hospital is now expected to open on 21 October 2016.

Cirrus Networks was No.3 in the 2015 CRN Fast50, with growth of 154 percent to $14.9 million. The company grew 31 percent to $19.5 million in the 2016 financial year.
