Consulting services provider Capgemini Group has partnered with Microsoft in a deal that would give both companies a new go-to-market for their cloud computing services.
Under the agreement, Capgemini plans to resell Microsoft's cloud-based communication suite, Microsoft Business Productivity Online (BPOS).
Additionally, Capgemini and Microsoft plan to jointly invest in sales and technical training and marketing around the web-delivered tools.
"Together, Microsoft and Capgemini are well positioned to offer cloud services that will help customers innovate and differentiate whilst reducing costs," said David Boulter, vice president of Global Infostructure Transformation Services for Capgemini.
The announcement adds to an existing agreement with Microsoft around Windows Azure, said Capgemini.
Simon Witts, corporate vice president of Enterprise and Partner Group for Microsoft said the services "minimise" the need for infrastructure investments.
"It can be deployed rapidly, but with the reliability and security that's essential for the enterprise," he said.
"Customers can save between 10 and 50 percent in IT-related expenditures as a result of deploying Microsoft Online Services", Witts claimed.
