CiSRA is the Australian research and development centre for Canon.
Ishizuka was formerly senior general manager of the SOC design centre at Canon.
He joined the company in Japan in 1984 and has deep experience in the field of research and product development. He came to Australia for two years in the late 1990’s where he worked as a hardware engineer on the STAR AISC development project. He was also instrumental in the development of the JPEG modules as a function of integrated circuits. This resulted in JPEG technology being taken to Japan where it was used in inkjet printers and multi-functional devices.
In his most recent role in Canon, Ishizuka was responsible for five general managers and led a team of over 190 employees.
“I’m very pleased to be appointed as the new managing director of CiSRA. The organisation has a rich 23 year history in Australia and it has resulted in a great number of product innovations in the field of printing technologies. I see great potential in CiSRA, and will work closely with the team to make CiSRA the global leader in Canon research and development.” said Keiji Ishizuka, managing director, CiSRA.
“We have great confidence in the skills and expertise of our Australian researchers and we will endeavor to continue to nurture young Australian engineers through our internship and scholarship programs”.
