Canon Australia has appointed former Hewlett Packard Enterprise channel chief Kaaren Lewis as its new general manager of sales of its Business Services unit.
Lewis was HPE's director of indirect sales, channel, SMB and alliances before leaving in February last year. She was replaced a month later by former EMC general manager of channel sales Chris Trevitt.
She went on to launch her own channel consultancy, Lewis Furneaux Consulting.
She brings more than 20 years of experience to Canon Business Services, having held various sales director roles at HPE, Dell and IBM.
Canon Business Services works with channel partners and customers under Canon's B2B business, which includes office professional print managed services. It also includes solutions provider Harbour IT and information logistics company Converga.
“Canon, in conjunction with their group companies, Harbour IT and Converga, has such a broad portfolio of solutions across printing, services, medical imaging and network security all the way through to BPO, mail and hospitality services, IT managed services and cloud solutions," Lewis said.
“This makes for a great combination and enables Canon to work with a broad spectrum of customers to deliver solutions that help them achieve their business outcomes in a competitive and challenging business environment.”
Canon Business Services director Gavin Gomes considered Lewis' appointment an "industry coup", bringing expertise in sales, marketing, business development, strategy, operating frameworks and commercial contracts.
“Kaaren has a successful track record of developing and implementing operating frameworks, financial management, strategies and programs that drive business, improve sales and increase margins across all customer segments," said Gomes.
“We believe that with her depth of skills, experience, relationships and network across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific, Kaaren will greatly contribute to our success and establish a strong foundation for the future.”
