NetComm and Fuji Xerox bagged two awards apiece at the event, with Netcomm taking out a product innovation award for its NB16WV wireless router as well as a nod for company innovation.

"We are thrilled to have won the esteemed Australian Business Award for innovation in both the business and product categories this year, and will build on this recognition to ensure the continued delivery of highly advanced wireless technologies for diverse markets," David Stewart, CEO and Managing Director of NetComm Wireless said in a statement.

Fuji Xerox took out best new product and product excellence awards for its Phaser 7800 colour laser printer.

Fuji Xerox A/NZ boss David Borg said the above awards were "a mark of excellence” that were a testament to the company's quality commitment.

“For our channel partners, this printer presents a fantastic opportunity to grow their market share in the high end graphic arts colour segment,” Borg said in a statement.

Corporate Express also won a pair of awards; taking out product value and best new product for its 'Staples' branded toner cartridges and Carbon Neutral copy paper, respectively.

Other award recipients included Pronto Software for its Pronto XI enterprise resource planning solution, Workflow Technologies for its "Inspection Apps" IT platform, SolveIT Software for its Supply Chain Network Optimiser (SCNO) and PAN Software for the research and development of RiskWare.

Outside of the product categories, Optus and SAP Australia both picked up community contribution awards for implementing policies and/or projects that impacted positively on the community and generated outcomes with long term benefits.

Kiandra IT also won in the non-product category for outstanding customer service.

ABA: awards point to "clever country"

Established in 2005, the Australian Business Awards cover key industry segments including financial, manufacturing, energy, telecommunications, construction, transport, healthcare, education and retail.

ABA Program Director Tara Johnston said: “These types of accolades don’t come easily – they are underpinned by vision and leadership, both of which require a clear dedication to research and development.

“There was unparalleled breadth and depth in this year’s entries, highlighting the economic stability of Australia and stamping it as the ‘clever country’ for progressive projects, investment, enterprise ventures and workplace practices.”
