Backbase teams with Synpulse for digital banking transformation

Engagement banking provider Backbase said it has partnered with financial services consulting firm Synpulse to help banks across the Asia-Pacific region accelerate their digital transformation efforts.

The collaboration aims to provide financial institutions with a comprehensive transformation approach by combining Backbase's Engagement Banking Platform with Synpulse's regional expertise and consulting services.

Backbase's platform currently powers over 150 financial institutions globally, including several APAC ones such as BDO Unibank in the Philippines, HDFC Bank in India, and Techcombank in Vietnam.

The company's platform enables banks to unify business lines and modernise around customer needs without vendor lock-in, allowing for progressive digital transformation.

Banks will benefit from strategy consulting, tailored platform solutions and localised implementation services designed to help them pivot toward customer-centricity while addressing specific market needs.

"This partnership strengthens our ecosystem and ensures banks have both the architecture and specialised expertise needed to accelerate their digital transformation," Riddhi Dutta, vice president, ASEAN and South Asia at Backbase, said.

"Our combined strengths will enable banks to unlock new growth opportunities and achieve digital transformation goals more effectively," Yash Shah, partner at Synpulse, said.

The partnership is focused on delivering three key advantages for financial institutions in the region: enhanced business outcomes, localised expertise, and solutions spanning retail, small to medium business, and wealth management banking sectors.

Synpulse brings its network of over 100 ecosystem partners and more than 1000 employees from 21 offices globally to the partnership, offering deep domain expertise in financial services.

The consulting firm's tech division, Synpulse8, will collaborate with clients to co-create digital experiences using innovative technologies and proprietary methods.
