Australian tech consultancy Alchemy Impact enters liquidation

Melbourne-headquartered technology and business consultancy Alchemy Impact has gone into liquidation after nearly a decade in business. 

The company’s web site previously listed services ranging from business strategy, planning and operating model transformation, to AI readiness and governance. 

It appointed Brett Orzel of OWS Advisory as liquidator after a decision in late July to wind up the company. 

Orzel told techpartner.news on August 5 that he terminated 17 staff. 

“The value of their claims are still being calculated but I am hopeful that the majority of their entitlements can be claimed through the Fair Entitlement Guarantee scheme," he said on August 5.

The company stated on LinkedIn that the decision to cease operations and wind down the business followed “careful consideration” after a review of its FY26 financial results. 

"[This decision] reflects the commercial reality that the level of new business required to support the company's ongoing sustainability has not materialised," Alchemy Impact's post said. 

"While this is not an outcome we anticipated or wanted, we believe it is important to communicate openly and transparently with our community." 

Alchemy Impact was founded close to a decade ago in 2017.

Its team included people with previous experience at organisations including Telstra, IBM, DXC Technology and Wipro, in areas such as cloud, managed services, AI, data and enterprise technology. 

The company's website previously listed work with a national disability services provider, a large Australian enterprise and a major financial institution, including projects related to responsible AI adoption, role-based AI capability and safe generative AI use. 

Its website also described an 'AI-Native Foundations Course' – a two-day "immersive and practical learning experience" certified by Scaled Agile, a provider of the SAFe framework for business agility. 

The course covered such areas as AI foundations, LLMs, prompting, RAG, practical applications, workflow improvement, AI success factors and building an AI adoption roadmap. 

The website also listed positive testimonials about the course from Defence Bank, disability provider Aruma and NAB. 

A virtual meeting of creditors took place on 18 August 2026, where creditors were due to receive and consider a report from the liquidator.
