LogMeIn has launched its first Australian partner program as it seeks to capitalise on its extensive user base among managed service providers.
Dubbed Elevate, the program is the first launched outside the US by the software vendor. LogMeIn is running seminars today in Melbourne, tomorrow in Sydney and Thursday online to introduce the program to potential partners.
While representatives couldn't reveal exact numbers, they said LogMeIn has "thousands" of service providers using its software in Australia, including the likes of Telstra, which uses LogMeIn Rescue to support broadband customers.
Signing up to the new program gives MSPs volume-based discounts on management tools like LogMeIn Central, Rescue and AppGuru.
Partners also get early access to LogMeIn's planned reseller program, which will allow MSPs to sell end-user products join.me, Cubby and LogMeIn Pro.
LogMeIn stopped offering its popular free remote access software LogMeIn Free earlier this year. While the vendor endured some criticism, the move has been a hit with service providers who resell LogMeIn Pro, said Asia Pacific vice president Andy Farquharson.
The company's message to MSPs is to get into identity management - this month LogMeIn announced it had bought single sign on and password management provider Meldium. In June it launched AppGuru, a cloud based app management tool for IT administrators.
"Over time, what they'll end up managing is users and identity," said senior director of products John Purcell. "Traditional channel organisations who don't evolve beyond network management and box moving will struggle to stay in business in the next few years."
