Aussie POS software vendor H&L acquired by software conglomerate Valsoft

Adelaide-based hospitality point-of-sale (POS) system specialist H&L Australia has been acquired by Canadian software conglomerate Valsoft.

H&L specialises in integrated hospitality POS systems for venues of all sizes, along with solutions for back of house, staff management, marketing and loyalty solutions and cloud-based software.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Valsoft said it will retain the H&L brand moving forward.

In the announcement, H&L managing director Burt Admiraal said it has been an exciting 32 years for the company.

“We have had the pleasure of working with the hospitality industry creating meaningful solutions, assisting our client in fixing the day-to-day problems and operational pain points,” Admiraal said.

“We are so pleased that we have now joined Valsoft, as they are committed to further developing the brand and expanding to new markets. We will be working with the team to ensure a smooth transition and looking after the interest of our clients.”

Valsoft said it will continue servicing H&L customers and aims to take the business to new heights with its experience operating other vertical market software companies. The two companies are also looking to invest in future technology to expand H&L’s offerings.

“We are thrilled to welcome the H&L employees, clients and partners to the Valsoft family. John Hardy and Burt Admiraal, have, alongside their team, built a customer-centric organization and a suite of comprehensive products,” Valsoft’s Travel and Leisure division CEO Michael Assi said.

“We believe the future is bright for H&L and will strive to continuously innovate and provide the exemplary customer service that H&L customers have gotten accustomed to for the past decades.”

H&L is Valsoft’s eighth investment into the Travel & Leisure software sector and the fourth acquisition within the hospitality sector. The company acquired US-based InnQuest Software in 2016, followed by UK-based Welcome Systems and Sydney-based CMS Hospitality in 2018.
