Atlassian, Canva and Rackspace Australia among the best places to work in Asia-Pacific

Several Australian IT firms have been named as some of the best places to work in the Asia-Pacific region by to multinational research firm Great Places to Work.

According to its website, the company describes a “great place to work” as “one in which employees, no matter who they are and what they do for the organisation, are having a consistently positive experience of trusting their leaders, enjoying the people they work with, and having pride in what they do.”

More than 1.5 million employees participated in the survey across nine countries in the Asia-Pacific region,

Software giant Atlassian was named third best “large workspace” to work in APAC, or companies with more than 500 staff, with the other Australian IT firms landing in the 25 best small and medium workplaces list.

Graphic design software vendor Canva, sometimes dubbed as Australia’s newest tech unicorn alongside Atlassian, came in sixth among all the small and medium workplaces in Asia.

Following Canva in the list are Sydney-based IT services provider Insentra, social media marketing start-up Stackla and the Australian operations of hosting provider Rackspace at seventh, eighth and ninth place, respectively.

Melbourne-based systems integrator Mexia came in at 13th, while Sydney-based technology recruitment firm Bluefin Resources took the 20th spot. Information management company Altis Consulting and Sydney-based web and software provider 4mation Technologies were at 23rd and 24th place.

Ninth-place Rackspace, via a press release, said it “was an honour” to be recognised by their employees as a top workplace.

“Achieving ninth best workplace in Asia is an incredible achievement,” Rackspace international managing director Reinhard Waldinger said.

Providing our teams with a workplace environment and culture that encourages their curiosity and encourages them to be the best they can is so important to us.”
