Asus has teased two devices ahead of CES 2014 in January - one of which might be a tablet that dual-boots Windows 8.1 and Android.
There are few clues to go on, but the company has already shown an appetite for dual-booting devices with the Transformer Book Trio laptop-desktop-tablet hybrid earlier this year.
It also filed new tablet designs with the US Federal Communications Commission earlier this month, which hint at a dual-booting tablet.
The company's teaser video for CES 2014 features the Statue of Liberty holding two blue tablet-shaped devices. One changes colour from blue to green, suggesting the dual-OS tablet. The other stays blue which suggests a new Windows 8.1 tablet.
The first-generation Transformer Book Trio arrived earlier this year, a hybrid device that could be placed into a desktop dock or used as an Android tablet or Windows 8 tablet. It's possible the new device could be a second-generation Transformer Book Trio, although both the ad and the FCC filing hint strongly at a tablet.
The FCC filing listed at least three new tablet models - an Android-only device, a Windows-only device, and a dual-booting version.
There's little detail on hardware in the filing, but a list of components included a new Intel Atom CPU, two USB ports, a microSD port, a rear camera and 32GB or 64GB of SSD storage.
