David Elliott has taken a new role as Aruba Networks' northern regional sales director after serving as ANZ channel sales director for close to two years.
“I will be managing seven sales staff in Sydney and three in Queensland in my new role,” Elliot told CRN on the sidelines of the Aruba Atmosphere conference in Sydney on Wednesday.
“My work as channel director will be invaluable to the new role as I would still be working alongside our channel partners.”
Elliott is a seasoned channel chief, having held similar roles at Avaya, McAfee, EMC and Nortel over an IT career spanning three decades.
Replacing him is Deke Rayner-Harvey, who joined the Hewlett Packard Enterprise subsidiary in 2016 as a small and medium enterprise sales manager.
“I look forward to further strengthening our relationships with all our channel partners,” Rayner-Harvey told CRN.
Elliott announced the change during Aruba’s 2017 Atmosphere tour in Sydney, addressing the company’s channel partners attending the event.
“On behalf of the Aruba South Pacific team, I thank all of our partners over the years and thank you all for a fantastic partnership,” Elliot said.
Headlining the event is Aruba chief technology officer Partha Narasimhan and HPE chief technology officer of office and security Carlos Gomez Gallego.
The Atmosphere tour was also held in Melbourne on 27 November and in Auckland on 1 December.
In October, Aruba parent company HPE also named a new channel chief in Marina Fronek, after the departure of Chris Trevitt in August.
More recently, Meg Whitman stepped down as the company's chief executive, naming Antonio Neri as her successor.
