SAP has plucked Jim Fisher out of southeast Asia to fill its chief operating officer vacancy for Australia and New Zealand.
Previous COO John Ruthven was last month promoted to Australia and New Zealand managing director. The managing director's seat was vacated by Andrew Barkla's resignation, announced at the same time.
Fisher, as ecosystems and channels vice president, had run the Global Partner Operations team in southeast Asia since July 2012. The software vendor said that the team now "drives more than half of SAP's revenue" in that region.
Before SAP, Fisher spent over 11 years at CA Technologies, ultimately becoming APJ channel sales vice president. He has also been an executive at Sterling Software APJ and Information Advantage Australia.
"When it comes to innovation, there are a number of first movers here across technologies such as cloud, the Internet of Things and our SAP HANA platform," said Fisher.
Managing director Ruthven said Fisher's experience and track record would be invaluable as SAP grows in Australia and New Zealand.
