SAP Australia and New Zealand has appointed John Ruthven as president and managing director, following the departure of Andrew Barkla.
Barkla leaves SAP after nearly three years to take "a leadership role outside the industry".
Ruthven joined SAP last year as senior vice president of cloud and line solutions for Asia and Japan. He was the appointed ANZ chief operating officer in August.
He brings more than 20 years’ experience in management and sales to the MD role. This includes nearly two years as international sales senior vice president at Zuora.
Ruthven joins the SAP Asia-Pacific and Japan senior executive team and will report to regional president Adaire Fox-Martin.
“We thank Andrew Barkla for his leadership in this transformative phase for SAP and look forward to John’s proven ability to scale business outcomes for our customers,” said Fox-Martin.
Barkla will stay on with SAP for a transition period.
