Regional and government services provider Anittel has announced the first of a handful of clients to sign up to its newly-launched hosted Cisco unified communications solution.
The CRN Fast50 2011 winner last week announced a soft release of its hosted UC service in what it claimed was the first hosted Cisco offering in Australia.
Today revealed it had signed a three year “multi-million” dollar deal with regional employment organisation Joblink Plus to roll the solution out to its 300 users and 37 regional offices across NSW.
Anittel will provide voice, video, data and application services using its nation-wide private carrier network and hosted infrastructure systems. The company has multi-tenancy arrangements out of its four data centres, two of each in Sydney and Perth.
Joblink Plus previously partnered with Telstra for its IP telephony system but decided not to renew after finding Anittel’s solution was cheaper, simpler and more flexible.
The first voice stage of the Joblink rollout is complete, with Anittel having installed the telephony, connected to its hosted servers and utilised its communications lines. Video features are still to be installed.
Anittel’s hosted Cisco solution will be officially launched later this month.
Anittel CEO Peter Kazacos told CRN Joblink Plus was among several clients already signed up, but declined to provide specifics.
“We’ve got a lot of interest and we’re in the process of getting our formal launch out so we can meet the pent-up demand our sales people are experiencing,” he said.
“We’ve got a very good product offering, and when you see we can win against Telstra, we’re keen to get it out as quickly as possible.”
Anittel recently announced plans to upgrade equipment in each of its 12 national points of interconnect. It will spend $2.5 million on new Cisco routers and $1 million on new fibre leasing arrangements.
