Altech Computers will join Ingram Micro and Synnex to become Intel's third Australian distributor for the processor maker's motherboards, solid-state drives, server processors, server platform and network products.
Other Intel products such as desktop processors will be handled by the other two distributors.
Kate Burleigh, Intel Australia head of marketing and reseller channels said the semiconductor maker sought to build on growth in the system-builder channel especially in SMB servers, all-in-one computers and solid state drives.
She said Intel wanted to talk to resellers customising solutions: “That’s where the channel has an opportunity”.
Intel saw growth in embedded systems for industries such as health, manufacturing and mining, although she said it was still investigating.
