AlertOps launches Status Hub to close the incident communication gap

In summary

  • AlertOps has launched Status Hub, a stakeholder communication platform natively embedded in its alerting and on-call management product to close the gap between incident response and external communication.
  • The platform moves incidents through a structured lifecycle - Investigating, Identified, Monitoring and Resolved - with automatic notifications via email, SMS and webhook across unlimited segmented status pages.
  • Early adopters span data centres, healthcare organisations, financial institutions, SaaS providers and e-commerce companies, with features including white-label branding and automated post-mortem documentation.

Incident orchestration vendor AlertOps has launched Status Hub, a stakeholder communication platform natively embedded in its alerting and on-call management product, aimed at eliminating the workflow gap between incident response and external communication during outages.

Unlike standalone status page tools that sit outside the incident workflow, Status Hub is built into AlertOps' integration ecosystem - which the company said spans more than 200 connectors - so that incident updates can flow to stakeholders without manual handoffs or separate tooling.

The platform supports public-facing, private and authenticated status pages, and moves incidents through a structured lifecycle - Investigating, Identified, Monitoring and Resolved - with automatic notifications delivered by email, SMS and webhook. Organisations can create unlimited status pages segmented by customer group or geography, with hierarchical service organisation and automatic status propagation.

AlertOps said early adopters include data centres, healthcare organisations, financial institutions, SaaS providers and e-commerce companies.

Data centre and colocation providers, the company noted, are often required by mandate to deliver ongoing incident updates and post-mortems. Financial institutions are using the maintenance-window scheduling feature to issue advance notifications and reduce social media escalations.

Additional features include white-label branding with custom domains, scheduled maintenance planning, and automated post-mortem documentation for SLA and regulatory compliance purposes.

Chellasamy Jamburajan, chief executive at AlertOps, said the company built Status Hub because communication can't be an afterthought during an outage.

"It gives customers real-time visibility into the response and the recovery at every step, instead of a status page stuck on 'we're investigating' for hours," he said.

"People in the dark expect the worst, and every minute of silence costs trust. We built Status Hub to put that trust back where it belongs: out in the open."

Status Hub is generally available now as part of the AlertOps platform.
