Adobe launches Acrobat reseller offer

To apply, partners have to complete the Adobe Connect Online Training Module on 'How to Sell Acrobat 9'.

They can then buy a minimum of four copies of Acrobat 9 (any combination of Standard, Pro or Pro Extended) at a non-discounted price in a single PO.

The offer is limited to one free product per partner for the term of the program.

Each 'free' copy is tracked by Adobe and labelled with a special sticker stating 'not eligible for return'.

The initiative runs for two months from 1st June 2009 until 31st July 2009 available to resellers in Australia & New Zealand only.

Craig McGregor, manager of Channel Sales  A/NZ for Adobe said based on a 15 percent margin on the Adobe Acrobat product sold, a reseller profit margin increases by 32 percent which is 2.1 times the normal profit margin.

"Adobe is investing in the broad channel with a promotion around Acrobat," he said.

"This promotion provides both the skills through online training, and the incentive of increase profitability, for resellers who have not traditionally sold Acrobat to help them identify the opportunity and sell through to their customers."

McGregor said the reason why Adobe had decided to run the campaign now was because there are a lot of resellers who have sold a couple of copies of Acrobat who could have more opportunities in their customer base.

It also wants to develop the skills to sell the Acrobat message within the channel.

"This promotion is linked to training to assist them in selling the product through to their customers," he added.

"We believe that the breadth of the channel is an important part of the ecosystem and there is an opportunity for them to open new market areas around Acrobat and Adobe products," he said.

Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended is valued at SRP$1,295.
