Acronis has named Exeed as its distributor for its consumer backup solution True Image in Australia and New Zealand.
New Zealand-headquartered Exeed will provide training, support and marketing assistance to partners interested in Acronis True Image software.
Justin Tye, managing director of Exeed said: "We believe that consumer data loss protection is vital today as home users become more mobile and are increasingly at risk of losing precious data from theft, damage or viruses."
Exeed joins Acronis' other regional distributors Rhipe and Ingram Micro. Rhipe currently focuses on cloud distribution, while Ingram is the vendor's main distributor, with access to the company's full portfolio. Exeed will focus on taking data protection to home users and small office home office (SOHO) customers.
"Backup is very valuable. It doesn’t take more than one incident to understand that a small fee you pay for an Acronis True Image license is nothing compared to hundreds or thousands of dollars you would lose recovering data without a backup," Tye said.
True Image protects data on Windows and Mac computers, iOS and Android mobile devices, and Facebook social network accounts. The solution delivers data protection for personal and family data using AES 256 encryption and stores it in multiple destinations, including external drives, NAS devices, network shares and the Acronis Cloud.
"[The partnership] It’s a major step forward in promoting Acronis’ consumer products in the region and Acronis will support Exeed’s efforts in making it easy for customers to protect their digital memories and important documents," said Tony Drewitt, Acronis general manager ANZ.
