Acquia names new Australian channel chief
Jae Kong, Acquia

Acquia has appointed Jae Kong to the new role of regional channel chief for Australia and New Zealand.

Based in Sydney, Kong will be responsible for working with channel partners and systems integrators to “build, manage and activate ambitious digital experiences at scale.”

Kong brings more than 15 years of channel experience to Acquia, most recently working for Oracle subsidiary Bronto as channel manager for APAC. He also worked at LogMeIn as senior business development and channel manager, and SPS Commerce as APAC channel sales manager.

Acquia bills itself as “the open digital experience company,” specialising in software-as-a-service solutions for open-source web content management platform Drupal.

Acquia previously provided the federal government’s whole-of-government content management GovCMS from 2015 before it was replaced by Australian SME Salsa Digital’s platform in July 2018.

Update: A previous version of this story stated Kong replaced former channel chief Darren Watskins. The story has since bene updated to reflect that this is a new role.
