Acer Computer Australia has drawn attention to its elevation to the number two position for LCD monitor vendors in Australia.
The vendor now has a 14.4 percent market share on local shores, according to IDC Asia-Pacific’s latest report on the leading LCD vendor by shipments for the third quarter of 2007.
“2007 marked a significant time for Acer in Australia in the LCD monitor market. With increased sales and new products reaching the market, becoming the number two LCD monitor vendor with 14.4 percent market share is something that we have never achieved before and highlights our ongoing commitment to this market,” said Gaba Cheng, display product manager of Acer Australia.
Acer claimed to have aggressively grown its quantity of LCD monitor sales by 45 percent in third quarter 2007. Additionally, Acer has increased its LCD market share by five percent for Q3 2007 when compared to Q3 2006.
The vendor claimed that much of this growth has been in the most popular LCD segment, with Acer in the number one position for 17" monitors with a 21.8 percent market share and also in the lead position in 19" monitors with 19 percent of the total market.
“We will consolidate this success and maintain it over the coming months. Moving forward we have set ourselves the goal to become number one LCD vendor in 2008,” added Cheng.
