Australian-managed Microsoft Solutions Partner A1 Technologies has earned the Microsoft Infrastructure and Database Migration to Azure specialisation.

The new certification adds to A1’s five existing Microsoft Solutions Partner designations.

The Microsoft Infrastructure and Database Migration to Azure specialisation requires an independent assessment of customer project delivery and technical capability across real-world Azure environments.

The work assessed included a large Azure migration for an 800-seat financial services organisation, Azure Plan deployments for a 300-seat construction organisation and scientific research environments, as well as automated deployments for an Azure AI environment build.

These projects spanned infrastructure migration, database modernisation, governance, automation and cloud architecture.

The audit also assessed an A1-developed Well-Architected Framework reporting tool built using Azure AI and A1's custom MCP architecture.

Deployed within a large eight-subscription Azure environment, the tool identified cost optimisation opportunities worth tens of thousands of dollars per year and enables Well-Architected Framework assessments to be completed in approximately a quarter of the time previously required.

Rob Rattray, director of A1 Technologies, said very few MSPs in Australia hold five of the six Microsoft Solutions Partner designations.

"Adding the Azure specialisation reflects a deliberate choice to go deep on Microsoft Azure, and it is what enables us to effectively deliver the larger, more complex projects our mid-market and enterprise customers bring us,” he said.

Clint Shiels, technical director at A1 Technologies, said this is a continuation of the company's efforts to dive deeply into Microsoft 365 and Azure with an ongoing improvement mentality.

“As part of the audit process, we showcased recent projects and examples of automation and standardisation across GitHub deployments for onboarding and delivery of projects including Azure Landing Zones, Alerting and Well-Architectured Framework reporting, improving compliance and reducing delivery time for our clients," he said.
