Photos: The 2022 CRN Fast50 Top 10 & Editorial Award winners

The fastest growing Australian IT and digital services companies have been recognised at the 2022 CRN Fast50 Awards in Sydney.

Now in its 14th year, the CRN Fast50 recognises the fastest-growing IT and digital services providers in Australia, based on year-on-year revenue growth. The awards are powered by Macquarie Bank and sponsored by Arrow, Kaseya, rhipe and Telstra. Watch the 2022 CRN Fast50 presentation and read the story here.

Pictured above is the team from the 10th place award winner, data and analytics specialist Bi3 Technologies. The company has established its credentials at the big end of town, including by helping a major airport deal with an influx of people after lockdowns ended. In its last financial year, it doubled its workforce and more than doubled its revenue to $4.8 million dollars.

In 9th place is cybersecurity firm CSO Group, which grew sales by 124 percent to $27.8 million dollars in its last financial year. More than half of its revenue came from state government, and CSO Group is particularly proud of a New South Wales whole of government deal it won with Mimecast. It also achieved one of the world's first Spectra Alliance solution deployments.

In 8th place is Virtual IT Group which staked its place in this year’s Fast50 by growing sales by 131 percent to $38.3 million dollars. The company has bought 10 companies, including six last year. After its next round of acquisitions, CEO Daniel Garcia expects the company to be one of largest privately held MSPs in Australia. 

In 7th place is AWS partner and consultancy Cevo,  with a 136 percent increase in revenue to $25.9 million. Its highlights included developing an application for the Centre for Social Impact for studying the effectiveness of the billions of dollars spent on social purpose initiatives. 

In 6th place in the 2022 CRN Fast50 is Salesforce and Mulesoft partner Mav3rik. It increased revenues by 137 percent to $10.2 million dollars, from a mix of cloud solutions and application development, advisory, architecture, design and delivery services. Major wins included development of a platform for the SANE organisation for people with complex mental health issues.

In 5th place is cloud specialist Arinco, which was the fastest growing company in the CRN Fast50 last year. It credits its continued growth to its partnership with Microsoft, with approximately 70 percent of its revenue attributed to co-selling opportunities with Microsoft sellers. This helped Arinco grow its sales by 151 percent to $18.5 million dollars in its 2021-22 financial year. 

In 4th place is Tamworth-based MSP Toim Technology. The company's small team prides itself on face-to-face service delivered over a vast territory encompassing Central West NSW and South East Queensland. Its reputation has earned it sizeable projects, including a 50-site managed network migration and a 400-seat UC migration. Toim Technology’s revenues nearly tripled to $3 million dollars in the last financial year.

Third place was taken by Salesforce and MuleSoft partner J4RVIS, which also more than tripled its revenues, to $6.8 million dollars in its 2021-22 financial year. To meet demand, J4RVIS has grown to 75 employees across Australia and the Philippines.

In 2nd place is Melbourne-headquartered Salesforce partner Etica Digital, which grew its revenue by 226 percent to $6.7 million dollars. It achieved that through a mix of advisory and professional services and recruitment solutions, with development work done in Manila, for clients in the financial, education, IT, media and creative, and transport and storage verticals. 

Sydney-headquartered Tekoi Consulting flew into first place with a 281 percent increase in sales to $17 million dollars. Its result was boosted by contracts totalling more than $5 million dollars to rollout edge switches to 27 sites. The company is proud of displacing a tier one reseller to become the preferred supplier for one of Australia’s largest law firms.

The COO of Sydney MSP A Corp. Computers, Jessica Leong, earned the Female Business Champion Award. She managed some of the business’s largest customers last year, which accounted for up to 45 percent of the company’s revenue growth. Jessica did this while overseeing day-to-day business operations, a service delivery team and customer service for all clients, in a year where A Corp. doubled its sales.

The CEO of A Corp Computers, Alexander Slade, took to the stage to receive the Young Leader Award. At age 26, Alexander is one of the Fast50's youngest business leaders.

Queensland Computers' Fast50 peers voted it the winner of the Icon award, for achieving consistent success and being an exemplar of all that's good in the channel.

Mantel Group won the Leader Award, which celebrates fast business growth and scale by recognising the Fast50 company with the largest overall revenue. 

Sydney-based carrier and cloud-neutral data centre services provider TechFlow Services won the Fast50 Resilience Award. This award recognises sustained growth, shining a light on the company with the best Fast50 performance over the last three years, based on how frequently it made the Fast50 and then on the best performance.
