What’s hot in converged systems? We ask Logicalis
Agim Isai

What converged or hyperconverged infrastructure solutions do you specialise in?

We specialise in EMC, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft and NetApp technologies. We have also started to partner with some of the hyper-converged vendors such as SimpliVity and Nutanix.

When did your company first get involved in this area?

We have been delivering data centre solutions  to the mid-market and enterprise for many years. We have evolved with the market, delivering consulting, implementation and support services in line with customer demands.

Which credentials do you have that apply to converged or hyperconverged infrastructure?

We are certified for EMC converged (VSPEX), Cisco UCS and NetApp FlexPod, as well as certified with SimpliVity for the hyper-converged technology stack.

Who are your main distributors for converged or hyperconverged infrastructure?

We are a direct EMC and Cisco partner and procure other converged infrastructure through Distribution Central and Westcon.

Have you heard of any cool or interesting recent developments in this space?

Only about the recent addition of the hyper-converged entrants in the market.

Can you tell us about a recent deployment you have done?

We are delivering converged infrastructure for a national retailer on a EMC VSPEX platform in conjunction with a data centre move that will give management greater agility and speed in responding to business requirements.

What is driving customers’ converged or hyperconverged infrastructure projects?

Customers want reduced costs in data centre footprints and resources and operational overheads through simplified management and support. Other priorities are an ability to scale quickly with simple and rapid deployment, risk reduction with certainty of outcomes and performance and hardware interoperability.

Converged / hyperconverged infrastructure is...?

An infrastructure solution that provides many of the benefits of cloud consumed in a private model, removing infrastructure complexity with a reduction in capital expenditure costs – and, perhaps most importantly, allowing IT to shift its engagement and focus from keeping the lights on to business enablement.
