What games devices and PC brands do you specialise in?
Scorptec Computers is a one-stop shop for gamers and enthusiasts, providing DIY custom PCs, Scorptec Gaming systems and ready-to-go branded devices from Acer, Aorus, ASUS, Corsair, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer and Zotac.
We also provide a comprehensive range of gaming peripherals, monitors, chairs, headsets, controllers and upgrade parts.
When did your company first get involved in this area?
Scorptec has been providing gaming products to customers since 1998. We started with a large range of components, peripherals and monitors for gamers, then began designing and building our Scorptec Gaming PCs, and working with international brands to resell their products.
What credentials and certifications does your business have?
Scorptec has won multiple reseller awards in the past 20 years from ASUS, Intel, MSI and Gigabyte. In addition, we are an authorised reseller, mostly with premium status, with all these vendors.
Which distributors do you use?
We use Synnex, Dicker Data, Ingram Micro and many other distributors for components such as graphic cards, motherboards, CPUs, SSDs, HDDs, power supplies, fans, coolers and cases.
What are the most interesting new developments in performance PCs?
Three developments stand out: VR-ready backpack gaming laptops that allow users
to play games on the go; Nvidia's Max-Q technology that helps reduce the thickness and weight of high-performance gaming laptops; and external GPU docks that enable any laptop to play graphics-intensive games.
Can you tell us about a recent deployment?
Scorptec has deployed nearly 200 Scorptec-built systems with high-performance gaming specs for simulation applications. More generally, we see more enthusiasts willing to spend over $10,000 to build their dream systems.
What factors are driving customers in this area?
For the gaming systems, the latest games releases and their ever-increasing system requirements are a constant driver. New components can be a driver too. For example,
to play a game smoothly with a 4K monitor often requires a system upgrade.
