3Com country manager appointed to boost presence in A/NZ
3Com Corporation has appointed Grant Howe as country manager for Australia and New Zealand. Howe is the latest addition to a new management team that combines 3Com and recently acquired H3C Technologies’ sales and marketing staff.

Telstra shops pass the Next G accreditation test, resellers next
Telstra country wide director Gary Goldsworthy said that all of Telstra's branded shops have completed a Next G accreditation program. The telco will also introduce the approved accreditation program to its appointed resellers.

Facebook: A communication tool for IT resellers
Technology resellers are establishing pages for themselves on Facebook as a way to network with their peers and customers. A search on Facebook shows there are at least 60 IT resellers, with member numbers ranging from 871 to five. However it appears that Australian IT businesses are lacking presence on the social networking site.

Commander sells Nexon back to founders
Commander Communications has squeezed its way out of funding a likely cash outflow of approximately $9.1 million on 30 April 2008 for the purchase of Nexon Asia Pacific Pty Limited back in March 2007. Instead Commander has sold Nexon back to its original owners.

Crazy John's compensates customers for misleading mobile phone ads
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has accepted court enforceable undertakings from mobile phone retailer Crazy John's, in which the mobile telephone service provider will compensate customers who feel they were misled by the company's 'Free*' or '$0*' handset advertising campaign.

Opinion: Virtually guaranteed
Everybody is bleating about virtualisation. And I mean everybody. It’s like they all watched the Matrix and thought it was a documentary. Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve been plugging the Citrix version of virtual known as thin client for donkey’s yonks, but that way of working never took off universally. Then along came VMWare and the rest is virtually history.
