Cellnet could face $148M loss when Telecom NZ contract ends
Australian broad-based distributor Cellnet Limited has renewed its logistical and distribution deal with Telecom NZ until October. However, once the contract ends, Telecom NZ will not renew its business with Cellnet, forcing the distributor to face a possible decrease in annual revenue of $148 million and a possible reduction in annual net profit of $1.25 million after tax.

Blue Coat offers US$268M for Packeteer
WAN optimisation vendor Blue Coat Systems has signed a definitive agreement with Packeteer, under which Blue Coat will acquire the WAN application vendor for US$7.10 per share in cash, or approximately US$268 million. The acquisition is expected to combine the channel operations of both organisations.

Adelaide’s City of West Torrens goes virtual
Australian IT architecture design and integration company – Technical Architecture Solutions (TAS) – is in talks with Adelaide’s City of West Torrens to work on virtual desktops for the council. TAS completed a virtualised server environment for the council in January this year.
