N-able nets ten Aussie resellers
Since opening its Australian operations in February, remote monitoring and service automation vendor, N-able has welcomed ten more Australian resellers to its stable. This will take N-Able’s Australian and New Zealand channel partners to a total of 12 and the vendor expects to sign up at least 40 resellers by 2009.

AVG grows reseller numbers by 33 percent
Australian distributor of Grisoft’s AVG security products, AVG Australia/New Zealand, has grown its resellers numbers by 33 percent. In the last six months, AVG A/NZ's reseller channel has gone from around 1200 to over 1600 resellers.

Telecommunications service provider, People Telecom, has acquired the assets and customers of business-grade hosted VoIP wholesaler ValueNet. People Telecom purchased ValueNet’s assets from Lemarne Corporation for an undisclosed sum.

Telstra wholesale exemptions could be a hollow victory
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has released a draft decision that it will exempt Telstra from the requirement to offer two wholesale PSTN services in parts of metropolitan Australia. The exemption would apply to wholesale line rental (WLR) and local call service (LCS), but only in areas where ULL-based competition is already established.

WJ Moncrief deploys Nortel products for Kalgoorlie remote mining networks
Western Australian-based service provider – WJ Moncrieff – has implemented a new network from Nortel Networks to improve security and reliability at Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM). According to WJ Moncrieff, KCGM replaced its ageing data network located in the remote mining town of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
