A media spokesperson for DiData told CRN that CSIRO’s strategic decision to use this network as the platform for a range of communications and technology services will put it in a strong position to use communications technology to support its business.
Following a tender announced in May 2007, CSIRO selected Dimension Data as its networking infrastructure provider. CSIRO’s strategic decision to use the network as the platform for a range of communications and technology services.
Steve Nola, Australian CEO, Dimension Data said the three-year standing offer includes the provision of technology as well as design, implementation and support services covering routers, switches, telephony, security, wireless and videoconferencing equipment across CSIRO’s entire network and data centre infrastructure. The anticipated value of this contract may be up to $4 million per annum.
CSIRO will also utilise Dimension Data’s eProcurement system ‘Direct’ to purchase all required technologies and products covered by the supply agreement, said Nola.
“I am really looking forward to the ways in which we can work together to provide a world-leading network infrastructure and support collaborative solutions for CSIRO,” he said.
