Jackie Taranto, managing director, Hannover Fairs Australia, said the Transaction 2.0 conference will include a ‘pitch-fest’ competition for Australian start-up companies called TechRamp 2008. The nation’s best and brightest entrepreneurs and developers will compete at TechRamp 2008 for $50,000 in prizes, as well priceless exposure in front of an international audience of experts and financiers.
“We aim to make Transaction 2.0 and the TechRamp competition signature events at CeBIT Australia,” she said. “Australia is proving to be a fertile development ground for these portable, flexible and reliable business tools, so we’re glad they can be showcased at such a high profile event.”
According to Taranto, the conference has attracted an international line-up of experts including entrepreneurs in the global Enterprise 2.0 space, leading financial technology experts, pioneers of the SaaS business model, platform developers, blog evangelists, experts on collaboration and enterprise business managers.
The Transaction 2.0 event is divided into two streams. The first is for business users exploring how to transition to these next-generation business solutions. The second is for Australian start-ups, entrepreneurs, developers and venture capitalists looking for the next big thing.
Gilad Greenbaum, director of IT at Hannover Fairs Australia, said Transaction 2.0 will explore how these new enterprise 2.0 tools can deliver business strategies, tools and advantages.
“There is a lot of potential and quite a few of promising companies in Australia playing in this space. It is important for the local industry that they have a platform like CeBIT Australia to showcase their innovation,” he said.
