Acer launches Australian reseller locator

Acer has launched a reseller locator as part of a new site to encourage small business sales through its channel partners.

The tool is part of a new Acer SMB Portal which the PC vendor is pitching as a “central resource" for small business, as well as a guide to Acer commercial products for resellers.

The site includes information no Acer’s latest range of business desktop, laptops and tablets, as well as tips and advice.

Acer has made small business a key focus on its channel push in Australia since new management stepped in at the beginning of 2014. Last year Acer launched its Acer Elite Partner Program, as well as outlining to CRN plans for bundled product stacks.

Acer resellers can also take advantage of Acer’s 1,500 square metre assembly plant in Sydney, which has the capacity to custom assemble an average of more than 26,000 laptops and 12,000 desktops and servers a quarter.

The new portal follows a major unveiling of more than 40 new products by Acer in New York last week, including laptops, tablets, smartphones gaming machines and projectors.

The new devices included a 15.6-inch Chromebook with a claimed 11.5 hours of battery life, new 10.1-inch Switch 10 and 11.6-inch Switch 11 two-in-one systems, and the Acer Aspire R11.

Acer also showed off a Windows 8.1 desktop private cloud device named the aBeing One smart centre and a combo PBX and touchscreen deskphone named the abPBX Plus – part of the vendor’s Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) push.
