Acer has presented its vision for a seamless Windows 10 experience, with everything from wearables to smartphones to PCs set to bear the next-generation operating system.
At its Next@Acer event in New York, the vendor presented more than 40 new devices, with multiple products in key segments including consumer, business and gaming PCs, Chromebooks, wearables and smartphones.
Like most PC makers, Acer is hoping for a big spike when Microsoft launches Windows 10, which is expected by the middle of this year and could be as soon as July, according to a recent slip-up by AMD's chief executive.
Acer chief executive Jason Chen said the introduction of Windows 10 "is very important".
"The true value of Windows 10 is a closed platform and consistent user interface. Acer is best placed to deliver that," said Chen.
In the PC segment, Acer is releasing a number of new devices in its Switch range of two-in-one notebooks, with upgrades to the 10.1-inch Switch 10 and 11.6-inch Switch 11 models.
Acer is going after the premium buyer with the US$399 SW5-015 model in the Switch 10 range, which boasts a white Gorilla Glass 3 back cover.
The vendor also launched the smallest addition to its convertible notebook lineup, the Acer Aspire R11, which offers an 11.6-inch display and 360-degree hinge that converts between four modes: notebook, pad, display and "tent".
Chen and his team also demonstrated several wearable devices, including the fitness-skewed Liquid LeapFit activity tracker and the Liquid Leap Curve.
The LeapFit even includes sensors to measure a user's "Galvanic skin response": a way to detect stress levels, which can be monitored via its smartphone app.
Acer runs Windows Phone on its Liquid M220 smartphone, and will update all devices to Windows 10 as soon as Microsoft launches the new OS.
When taking into account Acer's newly announced K138ST LED projector, the company is claiming to bring Windows 10 from the 1-inch screen of a wearable to 100-inches projected display.
Acer has not given any indication when it will launch the smartphone or wearables in Australia, if at all.
