Acer has launched a new SMB channel program aiming at “re-establishing” the brand in the market segment.
The Acer Elite Partner Program gives partners rebates and access to a marketing development fund program as well as the AcerLink portal, dedicated marketing support and accrual.
Acer has a quarterly sales target rebate program focussing on commercial products. Partners will also get access to customised advertising programs and Acer marketing materials, as well as events and training sessions.
The SMB market is a key new focus for Acer, with plans outlined earlier this year for bundled product stacks and an agreement with Melbourne’s Interactive Services to supply server platform services.
While Acer Computer Australia made a $47 million loss in the financial year ending 31 December 2013, the company is under new management in Australia this year.
The company hired Walter Olson as head of channel and distribution earlier this year. “We have a very strong channel eco-system that has supported Acer for many years in the Australian market,” Olson said. “Our focus is re-establishing Acer as a brand of choice within the SMB market and providing commercial-grade solutions to our partners and customers.”
