Fuelled by strong growth in the security market, Whitegold Solutions is moving to bigger premises.
The specialist distributor is looking to move its Sydney headquarters to a combined office and warehouse facility double the size of its current Belrose facility.
The new facility at Frenchs Forest will be around 240 square metres in size, up from the 100 square metres of its current location.
It will support a wireless VoIP network and expanded reseller and end-user training facilities. The move is expected to be complete by February.
Being a specialist player had enabled the company to make the most of the current boom in security, sales director Jonathan Odria said.
“We have had across the board growth in 2005,” he said, “But united threat management (UTM) devices have really taken off this year.”
Buoyed by Fortinet, Watchguard and Barracuda sales, the company was well on the way to matching the 300 percent revenue growth of last financial year, Odria said.
The inclusion of larger training facilities was also important in maintaining the company’s growth.
“It’s very important to us as a value-added distributor,” he said. “Training adds a lot of value for us and for resellers.”
With the new headquarters, Whitegold was on track with its plans for national expansion, Odria said.
In July the distributor opened a Melbourne office. A Brisbane office was planned for the first half of next year to be followed by a Perth office toward the end of 2006.
With the signing of AirTight Networks in October and several vendor negotiations underway, the company’s vendor portfolio also continued to expand, Odria said.
