Mobility and unified communications distributor Wavelink has announced it would bring Swedish vendor Cobs AB's newest product to the Australian market.
Cobs AB's Smart1 product, due for release in August, includes an Android smartphone for use on-premises that integrates into GAP-compliant digital European cordless telecommunications systems; IP-DECT radio base stations, for use in greenfield sites; and software to administer message delivery, handsets, and applications.
"Having just completed a week-long visit around Australia meeting with Wavelink, its partners, and end customers, we are buoyed by the positive reaction the Smart1 received,” Cobs AB chief executive Soren Erlandsson said.
“While this agreement does not affect Cobs’ existing distribution arrangements for our other products in Australia and New Zealand, we recognised that the Smart1 required a high level of value-added distribution, which Wavelink is able to deliver."
Wavelink managing director Ilan Rubin said that his company had been distributing DECT solutions in Australia for nearly 18 years and that partners in a specific vertical would benefit.
"The Smart1 solution perfectly complements our existing offering. It combines the best of DECT and wi-fi technology into a single, state-of-the-art device. It also has a number of specific features such as dedicated duress button, built-in location, top display for alarm and message display, ruggedised design, and push-to-talk capability - all of which are ideal for many of our partners’ healthcare customers."
Last month the Melbourne-headquartered distie added Extreme Networks to its catalogue. Wavelink also distributes vendors such as Spectralink, Fortinet, Digium, Lightspeed, Polycom and Purple WiFi.
