Extreme Networks appoints second Australian distributor

Melbourne-headquartered distributor Wavelink has secured advanced network switching vendor Extreme Networks.

The distie will have access to Extreme Network’s entire solutions portfolio, including wireless access points, analytics and network security and management products.

Wavelink managing director Ilan Rubin said the partnership will allow its resellers provide a complete end-to-end networking solutions for customers.

“Our focus to date has been solely on the supply of the wireless component of the network. Now, with the addition of Extreme Networks solutions, we can deliver a number of other network components, significantly increasing the value of the solution that our partners are delivering,” said Rubin.

“There is significant overlap between Wavelink’s and Extreme’s target vertical markets such as healthcare, education, and manufacturing, creating additional synergies.”

Distribution Central was handed exclusive rights to Extreme Networks in Australia back in 2009 and is the vendor's only other distributor in the region. Westcon was also added to Extreme Network’s distribution line-up in 2014, but no longer advertised the vendor on its website.

Data centre specialist DPSA was also an Extreme Networks distributor, but is no longer distributing the vendor.

Wavelink specialises in enterprise mobilitiy and unified communications solutions. Its other vendors include Spectralink, Fortinet, Digium, Lightspeed, Polycom and Purple WiFi.

Extreme Networks is based in the US and has more than 200,000 customers in more than 80 countries.
