WatchGuard appoints resellers to tackle top end

WatchGuard has appointed 13 resellers to help it manage stellar growth and to go after enterprise business.

WatchGuard head of channel in Australia Scott Robertson said it was growing at about 20 percent a year and saw more business through the channel.

“Recent analysis showed revenues a partner increasing by more than 60 percent over the past six months,” Robertson said.

WatchGuard has declared its goal to extend its success in the SMB space to the enterprise and was relying on the channel to help it get there.

Robertson said partners were chosen to build footprints in far-flung locations, including Kimberley Computing in the north-west WA town of Broome, while NCSi was chosen to provide national coverage for larger customers. Other partners were in WA, South Australia, NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Robertson said WatchGuard inducements to resellers were finance, upfront payment of discounts, training and consultancy services with the latter used by many to widen margins.

"Typically, a [partner] can expect up to two days of consulting work attached to the average WatchGuard XTM or XCS security deployment, translating to increased revenue and higher gross profit for every deal,” he said.
