Wasabi and Megaport partner on cloud storage for AI infrastructure

Wasabi Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with ASX-listed Megaport, with Wasabi's cloud object storage platform to underpin the storage layer of Megaport Storage as the two companies target next-generation neocloud infrastructure for AI workloads.

The combined offering is available through the Megaport platform in supported regions and pairs Wasabi's cost-predictable cloud object storage with Megaport's global private network.

Customers can provision secure, scalable object storage alongside high-speed connectivity through a single automated experience, the companies said.

Supported use cases include AI data platforms, data lakes, analytics, cloud-native applications, media and content repositories, cyber resilience, backup and other cloud-scale object storage workloads.

As part of the agreement, Megaport is expanding high-speed private connectivity to Wasabi's 16 global storage regions, allowing customers to provision dedicated connectivity to cloud object storage in minutes.

The partnership extends Megaport's push to build an integrated AI cloud platform spanning networking, compute and storage. The company added GPU-powered compute capability through its acquisition of Latitude.sh, with Wasabi now providing the general-purpose object storage layer.

The companies said they will continue to collaborate on deeper technical integrations, joint go-to-market initiatives and new solutions connecting Wasabi's storage platform with Megaport's networking and AI infrastructure.
