WA reseller goes under with debts to Ingram and Edsys

Western Australia solutions provider Neal IT has entered liquidation after 14 years in business.

Liquidator Liam Bellamy of WA Insolvency Solutions presented a report to a creditors' meeting on Monday that revealed debts of $102,191 to unsecured creditors.

The biggest individual amount was $44,284 owed to Ingram Micro. Fellow distributor Edsys Computers was owed $12,292, with local catering company South Coast Foodservice left $17,000 out of pocket.

Smaller amounts were owed to Apple, distie Dynamic Supplies and accountancy firm William Buck.

CRN did not receive any responses to phone calls and emails to Neal IT, located in Esperance on the south coast of Western Australia. The last update on the Neal IT Facebook page was an advertisement for a clearance sale on 8 November, just five days before the liquidators were appointed.

The liquidator's report confirmed that the business was no longer operating.

According to LinkedIn, owner Steve Neal founded Neal IT in July 2000. The company website lists IT hardware, software, support and training under its catalogue.

Neal IT was an Apple Authorised Reseller, Microsoft certified, Cisco certified, MYOB certified, a Reckon accredited professional partner and an Agrimaster accredited consultant.

Neal IT was also a sponsor of Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with Steve Neal formerly holding the presidency of the chamber.

Both Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry and WA Insolvency Solutions were contacted by CRN but a response had not been received at the time of writing.
