A student has been given a suspended sentence and put on the sex offender register after secretly filming women in a shared bathroom in halls of residence at Bangor University.
Charles Greaves, 19, of Wellington, Shropshire, UK used a webcam hidden in a bottle of shower gel.
Greaves admitted six voyeurism charges, and was sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court by Judge Merfyn Hughes to nine months' youth custody, suspended for two years.
The student will be under supervision for 12 months and must register as a sex offender for 10 years.
Greaves put the camera in the shower gel bottle and pierced a hole for the lens, the court was told, but the camera was spotted by a female student who called the police.
The man was arrested and his laptop was found to contain images of three women from the halls.
Greaves said in court that he greatly regretted his actions and the hurt he had caused. He has since left the university.
